Product Reviews

I am starting to get companies sending me products to review. I really appreciate the chance to try out some great products and share them with my readers, but since the FTC is starting to get sticky about making sure that bloggers disclose any “material connections” (payments or free products), it’s probably high time I spelled out my rules on doing reviews:

  • The opinions expressed here are solely those of yours truly. I’m not a chef, author, or culinary expert – just a serious foodie with internet access. As such, I can only describe my experience with a product. Opinions differ and your mileage may vary.
  • Most of the products I review I’ve purchased myself. If I’ve been given something for free to review, I’ll let you know that right up front.
  • If you have a product that you’d like me to try, please contact me via email. Sending me a product does not guarantee a review, but I will always try and work with a supplier to ensure that what you are sending me is something that’s appropriate for this blog.
  • I have some strong opinions. Know that I just won’t just parrot marketing materials in my review. If a product rocks, I’ll be more than happy to tell folks that. If it’s a good product with some issues, I’ll (politely) call those out. If it stinks, I probably won’t review it because nobody needs that kind of grief.

  1. The La Preferida peppers aren’t labeled gluten free, but they only contain Green Chiles, Water, Salt, Citric Acid, and Calcium Chloride. I’ve used them and had not problems.

As for the other goodies, I don’t have any on hand so you’ll have to check the labels. When in doubt I email the manufacturer.
