Memorial Day

Arlo & Janis

Man, this sure hit home. I’ve been down with a nasty cold and hadn’t planned on doing anything today. But after reading this, I worked up enough energy to throw some brats on the grill. My dear wife made some very tasty pasta salad, and we had a nice dinner out on the deck.

Gotta make the most out of the time you’ve got. Happy Memorial Day!

  1. Dave,
Been following your blog/cooking for over a year. My local green egg dealer does a sales pitch where they drop off a large egg, charcoal, ash tool, grill lifter and a plate setter(Extra at my request) for a trial weekend. My wife asked to hear my sales pitch as to why we should put up the $$$ for a egg. I told her I preferred to have the sales pitch go in her mouth not her ears. Any way Pizza, burgers, ribs, brats, hot dogs(Kids), spatchcocked Chicken, steak, tiger sauce shrimp, banana bread, brownies and corn on the cob. I was on your blog all weekend as a guide for each of these cooks. Thanks for being my Big Green Egg weekend guide.

P.S. I will let you know if the sales pitch was successful.

    1. Wow! Glad you like the site and best of luck with the sales pitch. Know that there’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get past that I’ve never had food that tastes as good as what comes off the Egg. Happy Egging!
